The new NUOS heat pump water heaters were therefore born from research: efficient and capable of heating a large quantity of water using very little electricity, as they absorb the heat directly from the outside air. Heat pump technology The NUOS range uses a thermodynamic cycle to heat the water contained in the storage tank through the air sucked in by the heating unit, reversing the natural flow of heat. A refrigerant fluid (R134A), through changes of state and compression and expansion cycles, takes the heat contained in the air at a lower temperature and transfers it to the sanitary water at a higher temperature. This mechanism is the reverse of the one used in refrigerators. The electrical energy required by the product is only that necessary to operate the fan which captures the air and the compressor which circulates the refrigerant fluid in the circuit. As required by national law, in new buildings it is necessary to satisfy at least 50% of the energy requirement used to heat sanitary water with renewable sources.
