Split systems HIDROTANK Mitsubishi Electric Heating, Cooling, Sanitary use

The Ecodan® - Split system consists of a traditional direct expansion outdoor unit and a hydronic module to be installed indoors, capable of producing hot water for heating/cooling and sanitary use. The module is equipped with a control unit FTC6.

A wide range of indoor units

The internal hydronic modules of the Ecodan® - Split line offer a wide range of choices:

• “Hydrobox” guarantees great flexibility of use and installation versatility. It is possible to associate it with a boiler for domestic hot water; there are various models including the reversible ones with which it is also possible to produce chilled water for summer air conditioning

• "Hydrotank" the simplicity and practicality of the "all-in-one", incorporating a 170, 200, 300 liter boiler for the production of domestic hot water. An external unit of the "Zubadan" series can be connected to the "Split" systems to favor performance at low temperatures or of the "Ecodan®" series characterized by the largest extension of the range

Hydrobox and reversible Hydrobox

The Hydrobox is the Ecodan® indoor hydronic module for suspended installation, which contains all the main components of the hydraulic system. The heat exchanger, the hydraulic circulator, an expansion vessel, a supplementary electrical resistance and the safety components can be found in a very small space. Attention has been paid to the smallest details:

• simple, modern and elegant design

• the small size allows installation in kitchens, closets, small technical rooms, cellars, etc..

• the main components are located in the front part of the unit to facilitate service operations

The Hydrobox is available in two versions :

• Hydrobox usable for heating and domestic hot water production (optional)

• Reversible hydrobox which adds the possibility of providing cooling to the functions of the hydrobox

Hydrotank and reversible Hydrotank

The Hydrotank is the indoor hydronic module for floor installation of the Ecodan® line equipped with a 170, 200 or 300 liter storage tank for domestic hot water.

The Hydrotank is also available in both the "hot only" version and the reversible version with which it is also possible to produce chilled water for summer air conditioning. Both versions are particularly compact and contain all the main components of the primary hydraulic system. Attention has been paid to the smallest details:

• Simple, modern and elegant design

• Small dimensions that allow installation even in small niches, closets, etc..

• Easy maintenance, all the main components can be reached by simply removing the front panel

• Ease of handling thanks to the lower handle

• Ease of transport even in small vans thanks to the compact dimensions and the possibility of laying it down even in a horizontal position

For the 300 liter models, the system side expansion tank is not included. It is necessary to obtain it from a third party and provide an outdoor space for its installation

Integrated condensate collection tray for reversible models

Inside the reversible Hydrotank units there is space for the condensate collection tray. The unit is equipped with a drain piping to the rear

Exclusive “Scale trap” filter

Thanks to the combination of the plate exchanger and the exclusive «Scale trap» filter, the performance of the DHW cycle remains unchanged over time. In traditional systems there is the risk that the calcium, as it precipitates, deposits inside the exchanger, reducing its exchange surface. The Hydrotank is equipped with the exclusive «Scale trap» filter which homogeneously captures the precipitated calcium before it has the possibility to settle in the exchanger. In this way the heat exchange remains unchanged, guaranteeing high performance for the production of domestic hot water

High performance Energy class A+ for domestic hot water

ACS production is optimised. Thanks to the energy saving function it is possible to reach the highest efficiency class (A+) in compliance with EU Regulation 813/2013

Improved performance thanks to the second THW5A thermistor

Optimization of the DHW heating cycles and better use of the hot water in the storage tank thanks to the addition of the second THW5A thermistor, selectable from the remote control

New 2-zone kit

• Complete kit with all the components for the service of two thermal zones, one at high direct temperature and one mixed at low temperature

• 3 selectable speeds of the circulation pump

• Compact size and ease of installation: a small box that can be installed on the Hydrotank or hung on the wall for connection to the Hydrobox

FTC6 control system

The Ecodan® - Split systems are equipped with the new FTC6 control unit. The backlit control, which can be removed from the unit body and installed remotely, is equipped with a large display with graphic icons; from it all the operating parameters are adjusted in a simple and intuitive way, the functions are set (weekly timer, "holiday" mode, domestic hot water filling, etc.), diagnostics and consumption monitoring are accessed. Thanks to the wireless control (optional) it is possible to measure the room temperature remotely and transmit it to the body of the unit, as well as modify the main operating parameters. It is not necessary to fix it so as to make it portable in different rooms

Guided start-up procedure

Thanks to the guided configuration it is possible to set the main operating parameters of Ecodan directly from the command during start-up

Minimum system water content: less than 1 liter per kW

For each specific outdoor unit it is necessary to guarantee a minimum volume of system water, which for Ecodan® and Zubadan split units, for installations in areas with not too harsh climates, is less than 1 liter per kW of unit power external. This means that, in many cases, it will not be necessary to provide a buffer volume to satisfy the minimum required volume

Continuous monitoring of operating parameters

The main operating parameters can be viewed directly on the control and are collected every 5 minutes and kept in the memory for 120 minutes

Ecodan® R32 outdoor units High performance in heating

The new Ecodan® R32 units are able to adapt to all system solutions and maintain high performance with outdoor temperatures down to -20°C. Seasonal energy efficiency A+++ and SCOP up to 4.62 at low temperatures

Extended operating range

Operating range in heating extended up to -20°C. The new outdoor units are also suitable for the harshest climates

Low noise

Compared to the R410A version, Ecodan® R32 boasts very low noise levels, which ensure applicability even in the most sensitive contexts

Flow temperature up to 60°C

Thanks to the water delivery temperature up to 60°C, Ecodan® R32 adapts to any system configuration, both for underfloor heating and for radiators

Outdoor units for every need

Mitsubishi Electric presents the new series of Ecodan® R32 split outdoor units in sizes 4, 6, 8 kW which are added to the Ecodan® and Zubadan R410A models, dedicated to residential hydronic heating systems

The AA Chassis outdoor units are available in sizes 80 and 112 Zubadan and in sizes 75 and 100 Ecodan®. The configuration of the AA-chassis units guarantees very high performance, unprecedented silence and a refined design

Unparalleled silence

The search for a product that prides itself on its silent operation led to a complete redesign of the unit's chassis. AA units are lower than previous generation twin fan units of equal power and have a discreet and sophisticated design

• To reduce fan noise, the new AA chassis outdoor units use a larger diameter fan further away from the coil

• The new refrigerant circuit layout limits the risk of resonances and vibrations

• The new compressor is installed on rubber mounts and is efficiently acoustically isolated by a dedicated structure. All of these technological improvements ensure a -10dB(A) reduction in operating noise

New base design

The base of the AA outdoor units has been redesigned to optimize and facilitate condensate drainage. The improvement of the defrost logics and the coil layout, combined with the new condensate drainage base, make it possible to avoid the formation of ice which could limit the comfort of use

High performance

The new compressor of the AA outdoor units, more compact and powerful, allows to reach high SCOP values ​​without sacrificing power. The whole series brilliantly exceeds the seasonal energy efficiency class A++ as defined by the European directive ErP Lot 1
