Galletti fan coil ART-U Innovation driven by Design
The new ART-U is born from the great experience of Galletti in the development and design of fan coils and as confirmation of its continuous search for innovation, the result of a perfect combination between performance and design. The objective achieved by this project is absolutely ambitious: a new and unique product, not yet present on the market, which on the one hand is capable of responding to increasingly stringent requests in terms of energy efficiency, on the other meeting for the first turn the recent furniture and interior design trends.
With the new ART-U, Galletti completely hits this target, presenting a new concept of hydronic unit on the market, a product that is characterized by its enviable technical performance and at the same time represents a real stylistic shift in a sector accustomed for too long to products that are very similar to each other
ART-U, with its depth that in some points is just 10 cm, and thanks to its unique lines, was conceived to be an absolutely transversal product, which adapts perfectly both to rigorous and essential environments, and to more warm and sophisticated. Thanks also to the possibility of customizing the front panel, ART-U satisfies the request for ever greater customization of the spaces to be furnished
The achievement of very high aesthetic standards has not weakened the usual constructive virtuosity of Galletti products: the search for innovation has in fact also concentrated on the components and on the use of new materials. With ART-U the state of the art has been redefined also in terms of technical performance, thanks to the use of computational fluid dynamics simulations for the optimization of the heat exchange inside the terminal combined with the use of permanent magnet electric motors
Designer furniture
The elegant front panel is made up of two aluminum sheets with a polyethylene core and optional polyester-based surface painting. It is a light but very resistant material, created for facade cladding in the building sector. The side panels are in UV stabilized ABS to keep the color unchanged over time. The polyethylene core acts as a flexible filling and thermal insulator while the aluminum gives structurality and aesthetics
Conveyors
In high density polystyrene. They are designed to optimize the aeraulic flow inside the hydronic terminal allowing an optimal distribution of the air flow in the coil and low noise at any operating regime
Upper grille
Consisting of adjustable fins in anodized aluminum, available in the version for on-board or wall-mounted control. The ABS combs, supporting the grids, prevent them from bending, always guaranteeing the user's safety
Electric motor
Permanent magnet BLDC motor with inverter integrated in the fan unit. The IP54 degree of protection is guaranteed, therefore the access of dust to the inside is prevented and resistance to water splashes is guaranteed
Tangential fan
Tangential fan statically and dynamically balanced to reduce operating noise. The plastic material used for the blades guarantees, compared to metal fans, a reduction of vibrations and absence of bending along the axis of rotation. The blades are interspersed with intermediate reinforcement disks in order to increase their strength
Heat exchange coils
High efficiency turbulent in copper tube and aluminum fins, it is equipped with brass manifolds and vent valve. The hydrophilic treatment is applied as standard on the fins, to increase their effectiveness in cooling and at the same time greater resistance to aggressive atmospheres. The hydraulic connections are reversible during installation. On request, it is possible to mount an additional coil for 4-pipe systems

Computational fluid dynamics simulations
Model
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a method that uses numerical analysis to solve fluid dynamics problems using computers. For the ART-U project, a computational domain discretized by means of a polyhedral computational grid (mesh) consisting of 12 million cells was considered. The mesh has a refinement extended to the entire rotor area to best reproduce the vortices that are created in this area
Air motion field
During the initial development phase of the ART-U project, the calculation showed recirculation of the fluid downstream of the rotor in different areas, with consequent pressure drops
Flow lines
The flow lines show how the trajectory of the fluid streams inside the unit does not have a uniform distribution. For this reason, the research also focused on the improvement of air distribution along the longitudinal axis of the fan, minimizing wall effects. The results of these simulations have allowed an optimization of the geometry of the internal conveyor and of the orientation of the finned pack coil
