Purpose

Purpose Limescale encrustations and corrosion are among the crucial problems afflicting plumbing and sanitary systems. The proportional dosage of anti-scaling and anti-corrosive products in the water represents a safe and consolidated technology which offers guarantees of success in the prevention of limescale deposits and corrosive processes. Polyphosphates, even at very low concentrations, are able to counteract the formation of lime scale and corrosion in the hot and cold water distribution lines. MiniDOS is a mechanical volumetric dosing pump with a patented design and technical concept capable of dosing AcquaSIL 20/40® (an aqueous solution of polyphosphates) in a precise and proportional manner, protecting the hydraulic circuits and the heat exchange equipment from encrustations and corrosion ensuring a dosage always lower than 5 mg/l of P2O5. Principle of operation

MiniDOS does not require any electrical power. The dosage, precise and proportional in any operating condition, is started hydraulically by a mechanical system which, exploiting the movement of the water, introduces controlled quantities of AcquaSIL 20/40®. Through a mechanism known as the "threshold effect", polyphosphates, if present in the water in concentrations of a few mg/l, interfere with the crystallization phenomena of the carbonates, hindering the formation of incrustations. Furthermore, polyphosphates are able to form a protective film on metal surfaces, protecting them from any corrosive phenomena.

Main features

MiniDOS is completely self-priming; it is sufficient to periodically top up AcquaSIL 20/40® in the tank. The pump is protected from the back pressure of the hydraulic network by a non-return valve. The non-return system allows MiniDOS to be recharged without having to put the equipment in by-pass or shut off the hydraulic supply. The high injection frequency ensures homogeneity in the dosage. MiniDOS only doses the AcquaSIL 20/40® product, a combined solution of food-grade polyphosphates specific for the treatment of drinking water used to prevent scaling and corrosion for water with a temporary hardness between 5 and 35°f. The stabilizing properties of the AcquaSIL 20/40® product are guaranteed for instantaneous temperatures up to 80 °C and accumulation temperatures up to 60 °C. The AcquaSIL 20/40® product not only protects new equipment and hydraulic circuits but is also able to gradually restore already encrusted circuits.

Maintenance and durability

Maintenance and duration MiniDOS requires periodic filling of the AcquaSIL 20/40® tank. For correct management of MiniDOS it is advisable to carry out at least two yearly checks.
