Ecodesign directive: from 2015 only new condensing boilers
After very long negotiations , the Ecodesign regulation was approved which introduces a new energy labeling on the minimum efficiency standards for boilers. In particular, an energy classification from A+ to G is envisaged for space heating appliances and from A to G for domestic hot water production appliances. Hence the obligation to install only condensing boilers, heat generators capable of recovering a large part of the latent heat contained in the fumes which, otherwise, would be dispersed in the chimney as occurs in traditional boilers. The recovered heat is transferred to the heating system, allowing to reach an efficiency of 106% against 92% of the traditional boiler and 84/85% of an old traditional generator. The installation obligation concerns boiler manufacturers who will no longer be able to place non-condensing ones on the market starting from 26 September 2015 . This means that starting from this date, anyone wishing to install a boiler in their own home will only have to install condensing models. Only a particular type of non-condensing boiler will continue to be produced which is technically called "open chamber" to be installed when it is not possible to replace an old boiler with a condensing boiler due to problems related to the collective flue of some multi-family buildings .

How to read energy labels
There are different labels, based on the type and functions of the product (water heating or space heating only or both, and in this case the label must show both classifications).
In addition to the energy class, the label provides other information that could be useful for understanding which product has the least environmental impact (for example power and consumption in different climatic zones, noise, etc.).
It is possible to increase the energy efficiency of hot water production and space heating by connecting several products and accessories in one system. In this case it is necessary to prepare a system label in addition to that relating to the single product

Together with the heat, a traditional boiler also produces water in the vapor state, usually evacuated through the exhaust fumes. Normal boilers, since they do not treat these fumes before releasing them into the environment, therefore have a thermal efficiency based exclusively on the lower calorific value. The water vapor is not recovered in any way, thus dispersing part of the energy produced during combustion. Condensation is the physical process which, inside the boiler, transforms the water again from the vapor state to the liquid one.

Aquaspeed FAST® and new microaccumulator: unique comfort Thanks to the exclusive Aquaspeed FAST ® technology , the domestic hot water is stored in a 3-litre micro-accumulator which guarantees the immediate availability of hot water without the temperature fluctuations typical of the first delivery phase. The new micro-accumulator, made of stainless steel and composite material, is insulated with two expanded polystyrene shells to reduce heat losses in stand-by. Externally, a small resistance (max 25 W) keeps the water always at the desired temperature, avoiding costly multiple ignitions of the burner in case of low flow rate withdrawals. When the withdrawal is greater than 1.7 litres/min, the boiler starts up and, through the instantaneous DHW exchanger, goes into continuous production according to the user's requests. At the end of the withdrawal, the micro-accumulator is already at the set temperature, ready for the next request. FlameFit® technology: more efficiency, less consumption and emissions The innovative FlameFit® combustion technology with which all ThemaFast Condens models are equipped allows the boiler to be independently adapted to the different types and qualities of gas, always guaranteeing optimized and fully safety. La nuova gamma ThemaFast Condens vanta dei consumi eccezionalmente bassi e si posiziona ai vertici della categoria sia in termini di comfort sanitario sia di rendimento grazie anche al sistema esclusivo Aquaspeed FAST® per la produzione di acqua calda sanitaria.
Il microaccumulo, rinnovato con i suoi 3 litri di acqua calda sempre disponibile grazie alla resistenza elettrica che la mantiene alla temperatura desiderata in modo costante, dona al cliente un comfort sanitario di alto livello.
Rivoluzione interna ed esterna per essere pronta ad entrare nel futuro del segmento caldaie, ThemaFast Condens presenta un “cuore” nuovo che batte grazie al nuovo sistema di combustione FlameFit che garantisce un autoadattamento ai diversi gas di alimentazione e permette di utilizzare la caldaia con una miscela di gas contenente fino al 20% di idrogeno.
In abbinamento alla tecnologia ADA di bilanciamento delle pressioni del gas di alimentazione fornisce il più corretto mix aria/gas necessario al fine di ottenere la miglior combustione possibile. I valori di modulazione garantiti possono ricoprire fino a 1:9.
Queste nuove caratteristiche del prodotto, parallelamente ad una evoluzione dell’elettronica, permettono alla caldaia di adattarsi completamente alle reali richieste dell’impianto di riscaldamento, consentendo anche una riduzione dei consumi di gas e corrente.
I nuovi modelli sono disponibili con alimentazione a metano, ma convertibili a propano automaticamente tramite una semplice regolazione elettronica.
Le dimensioni sono uguali alle versioni precedenti al fine di facilitare e velocizzare la sostituzione dell’apparecchio. Anche le dime per gli attacchi idraulici risultano essere fedelmente compatibili alle versioni precedenti, garantendo così un’installazione senza pensieri.
