Domestic hot water
Instantaneous forced draft water heaters, with electronic ignition with wide modulation range and extremely compact dimensions: among the smallest on the market.
The turboMAG plus water heaters guarantee plenty of hot water immediately, always at a constant temperature and maximum operational safety. Precisely safety is the added value of this range of water heaters. The Vaillant research and development team, which has been focused on ensuring leadership in the sector for over 140 years, has developed turboMAG plus with the target of safety: in fact, 26 control to ensure maximum user reliability.
The new turboMAG plus are water heaters equipped with a three-stage combustion system which broaden the modulation range ensuring perfect temperature stability during hot water delivery. A new exchanger raises the performance of the water heater which, in the 11 – 14 – 16 liters per minute versions, offers a flexible choice for every user.
turboMAG plus allows 360° installation flexibility: inside apartments and also outside, resisting temperatures down to -15°C (thanks to the antifreeze accessory) and rain (IPX5D approval).
A solar kit as an accessory also allows you to pre-heat the incoming water, further reducing gas consumption.
turboMAG plus (hot water production) is the new version of forced draught water heaters with DHW flow rates of: 11, 14 and 16 litres/minute running on Natural Gas and LPG.

Ecodesign Directive (ErP) 2015
How to be ready for new EU legislation
What will happen from 26 September 2015?
From this date it will no longer be possible to produce traditional forced draft boilers. Instead, it will be possible to continue producing condensing boilers and traditional open chamber boilers equipped with high-efficiency pumps and compliant with the new ErP requirements such as emission, noise and efficiency levels. In particular, the installation of traditional open chamber boilers will only be possible to replace old boilers installed in multi-family buildings which discharge the fumes into branched collective flues (CCR).
Products placed on the market before 09/26/2015 that do not comply with the requirements of the new directive, such as traditional forced draft boilers and boilers not equipped with a high efficiency pump, can still be purchased, sold and installed.
ErP and ELD: what do they mean and how are they different?
ErP : The EU has issued new obligations for Energy Using Products (ErP). The new directive, known as the Ecodesign directive, prescribes minimum efficiency requirements and emission limits for appliances that produce heating and domestic hot water. The Ecodesign directive is aimed at two categories of products relevant to installers and resellers in the sector:
- Category 1 includes space heating appliances; in particular: electrical, gas and diesel appliances such as boilers, heat pumps and cogenerators.
- Category 2 Includes appliances for the production of domestic hot water: electric, gas, diesel such as water heaters, heat pumps for DHW, solar systems up to 400 kW and boilers up to 2000 litres.
ELD: in addition to the ErP directive, the EU has also introduced mandatory energy labeling for the same type of appliances up to 70 kW and boilers up to 500 litres. The energy labeling directive is called ELD and requires that new products and systems for heating and the production of domestic hot water are labeled with an indication of their energy efficiency class. By combining the products and components, for example by adding a temperature control unit, the energy classification of the system can be increased, which will be calculated by the installer and indicated on the package label.
When and how will the new rules apply?
On 26 September 2015 the new rules will come into effect. Until then, neither manufacturers, retailers or installers have to comply with the new Ecodesign or labeling provisions. Once the new rules come into effect, manufacturers will only be able to manufacture products that comply with the new Ecodesign requirements, and will be required to supply an energy label with the products
What do the new rules mean for the end customer?
Unlike household appliances, energy labels on heating and domestic hot water products and systems can only offer a first orientation and will not necessarily provide the best solution for a certain type of installation, nor will they give indications on the assumed cost of energy when obtains a high energy classification. For example, it is not said that a heat pump which presumably will have a higher efficiency class than a condensing boiler can then actually be used in a given type of building. This is why the advice of a competent technician is still necessary to understand the label and select the best product or system that best meets the needs of your building.
